Students are required to stand up and sing it with action together. Next, I will present a real ball and ask them whose ball this is, students will give me their answers, which naturally leads into today’s topic: whose dress is this?
Rhythm can not only make the class atmosphere active and arouse their interest, but also help them to review sentence pattern: whose dress is this.
Step 2 Pre-reading
In this stage, I will present three words(move, hand, hurt) with my action and picture on the blackboard and teach them how to pronounce them.
In order to create a relax class, I will ask them to play a game: figure show. The rule is when I show one figure, student will read “move”; when I show 2 figures, students will read “hand”. At the same time, I will divide them into 3 groups to stimulate their passion.
Step 3 While-reading
Next is while-reading. In this stage, I will read the dialog for students for the first time and ask them to pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation of these sentences.
Then I’ll give them 5 minutes to read the dialog by themselves and ask them to answer 2 questions on the blackboard:
a. Can the ball move?
b. What’s the matter with Bobby?
Active group and correct answers will be given 3 points.
Then I will play the recorder for the students and ask them to read after the recorder.
These 2 questions are easy for them to find out. Through reading the dialog twice, students will know what happened between Bobby and Sam. Students’ reading and listening ability will be practiced in this stage.
Step 4 Post-reading
The following step is called “post-reading”. For this step, I’ll give students 5 minutes to practice the dialog with their group members and ask volunteers to act it out and give them some evaluation.
In this way, students cooperation awareness will be increased greatly and their speaking ability will be improved.
Step 5 Summary and homework
At last, I will congratulate the winners and clap for them and then invite one of my students to be a my teaching assistant and review what we have learned today, so that they can consolidate the content of this lesson again.
As for homework, I will ask students to ask students to tell their parents what they have learned today and perform this dialog with their friends.
