Good afternoon, dear judges.I am NO. 2.It’s my great honor to interpret my lesson. the topic is unit 5.There is a big bed and my presentation consists of the following aspects.
l analysis of teaching material
The lesson is chosen from part A of unit5, first volume of grade5, PEP primary English book and the main topic of this lesson is talking about position of things in the room. After studying this lesson, students will know how to pronounce “ay” and “ai” correctly .
l analysis of the students
Students of this period just learned English for a few years, so they don’t have enough knowledge background.But they are active and have interest in new things, thus, I can use different methods to create nice atmosphere to let them learn English happily.
l analysis of the teaching aims
I set three teaching aims according to the syllabus.
Knowledge aim: Students will know how to pronounce “ay” and “ai” in a word correctly
Ability aim:students can improve their observing and discovering ability.
Emotional aim: students can improve the confidence of learning English,and are not afraid of speaking English in public.
l analysis of the key and difficult points
According to the analysis above, I set the following key and difficult point.
Key point: students can master the pronunciation of “ay” and “ai” and know how to distinguish pronunciation of them.
Difficult point:students will arise their interest and desire of learning English.
l analysis of the teaching and learning methods
The following part is analysis of the teaching and learning methods.I’ll mainly use “Task-based teaching method”, “Communicative language teaching method” in my lesson.As for learning method,I will let students work in groups to foster their awareness of cooperation.
l analysis of the teaching procedures
Step 1: Warming up
Greeting to students as usual.Then sing a song named Rain rain go away,and ask students “Do you know how to pronounce letters ‘ai’ in the word rain?”
Purpose: By singing a song ,students’ attention will be attracted in the class,and it can lead in today’s topic naturally.
Step 2: Presentation
In this stage , I will draw two pictures about “rainy,rainbow” on the blackboard and then write the two words on the blackboard,next ask them to find out similarities between these two words. It will be easily for them to find out that there are group of letters”ai”in the two words .then I will ask my students look at my mouth and imitate how I pronounce these letters,then I will show them another two words “way,birthday”and teach them to pronounce the letters “ay” by using the same way .
Purpose: This lesson is about pronunciation, so imitation can make their pronunciation more accurate and it will be helpful to foster students’ ability of observing and discovering.
Step 3: Practice
I will set up an interesting game named “send them home” to let students classify some words into two groups. And then I will check if they can distinguish the pronunciation of “ay” and “ai” in words by playing the listening material .
Purpose :Through this activity, students can truly master the pronunciation rules about “ay” and “ai”, and ss will deepen their memory about the pronunciation.
Step4: Production
In this section,I will show four pictures to students,and ask them work in pairs to make new sentences by the words with “ay” and “ai” according to these pictures.5minutes for preparation. Then I will invite several groups to show their sentences.
Purpose: This activity can help students consolidate the new knowledge we have learnt today .
Step5: summary and homework
Summary:At this stage, I will invite one student to recall what we have learned today.
Homework:Search more words with letters “ay’ and “ai”,and share them next class.
Purpose:this step can help students review what we learnt today, and deepen their impression of pronunciation.
l Blackboard design:
At last, this is the blackboard design. This can help them know the important points of this class and can also help them take notes.
